Prof. Goski Alabi Champions Africa’s AI Future as Ghana Hosts Inaugural Africa AI Conference

Ghana is set to host the maiden Africa Artificial Intelligence (AI) Conference from November 5–6, 2025, in Accra, under the theme “AI for Africa: Unlocking Opportunities for Education, Innovation, and Sustainable Development.” The landmark event, organized by the Africa Education Trust Fund (AETF), will bring together thought leaders, policymakers, innovators, and investors from across Africa and the diaspora to explore how AI can transform the continent’s future.

At the heart of this initiative is Prof. (Mrs.) Goski Alabi, a distinguished Ghanaian educationist, Director and Company Secretary of the Africa Education Trust Fund, and one of the leading voices shaping Africa’s educational and innovation agenda. Prof. Alabi emphasized that the conference represents more than a technological milestone—it is a bold declaration that Africa intends to chart its own course in the AI revolution.

According to her, the AETF AI Conference seeks to harness the “boundless power of Artificial Intelligence to transform Africa’s education, economy, and human development landscape.” She explained that the Africa Education Trust Fund was founded on a simple but powerful conviction: “that education, innovation, and enterprise must work together to secure The Africa We Want.”

Prof. Alabi further stated that the launch of the conference is a commitment to ensuring that Africa will not be a passive consumer of technology, but an active architect of intelligent, ethical, and inclusive innovation. “Through the AETF AI Conference,” she said, “we are building a platform where governments, academia, private sector leaders, and young innovators will collaborate to shape policies, build skills, and create opportunities powered by AI.”

Her vision reflects the AETF’s pan-African mandate to build systems that enable Africa to compete globally while maintaining its distinctive identity and values. Under her leadership, the AETF continues to drive initiatives that bridge education and industry, equipping Africa’s youth with skills to thrive in the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

The conference will feature ministers, policymakers, researchers, innovators, and youth leaders from across the continent, exploring how AI can reshape sectors such as education, finance, agribusiness, energy, and governance. Exhibitions will also allow companies to showcase AI-driven solutions that enhance Africa’s global competitiveness.

In his remarks, Dr. Ekwow Spio-Garbrah, Chairman of AETF, highlighted the dual goals of the event to ensure that AI becomes a tool for Africa’s progress and a platform where ideas meet investment. Similarly, Prof. Sam Ndoga, Chairman of the Conference Planning Committee, described the gathering as a unique opportunity for Africa to define its path in the AI era.

Sponsors of the 2025 AETF AI Conference include Glico, Fidelity Bank, Jospong Group of Companies, Meta, Margins, Onesta, and the Africa Private Sector Summit (APSS).

Registration, sponsorship, and exhibition opportunities are now open via the official conference portal: [https://africaetf.org/ai-conference/](https://africaetf.org/ai-conference/).

Through her visionary leadership, Prof. Goski Alabi continues to inspire a new generation of African thinkers, innovators, and leaders, reminding the continent that the future of Artificial Intelligence in Africa begins with education—and that future starts now.
