Gospel music is more difficult and expensive than secular – Iona Reine shares experience
Ghanaian gospel artiste Iona Reine has disclosed that being a gospel musician requires a lot of resources and expenses during production compared to secular music.
According to her it’s very expensive to get a quality production done as a gospel musician since productions are mainly live band sessions which requires investment and time thus not an escape route for a failed career.
In an exclusive interview with Fiifi Forson on Joy 97.7 fm she said, “people think being a gospel musician is very easy and because I failed in secular music so I’m looking for an easy escape. Recording alone is expensive because of the live band sessions so it’s not because of that, but the zeal to work for God and project His ministry”.
When asked on how well she has been received by the gospel fraternity, she expressed her gratitude to all those who has been encouraging her since her switch and recounted how Minister Joe Mettle recognized her and said a word of encouragement to her. “ To me that was very huge and I am grateful to his words”.
