I Once Starved For More Than Two Weeks Just To Save Up Money For Studio Microphone – Kwadjo Opwad

Doing music in Ghana as an indie artist requires a lot of effort to live through the struggles which some upcoming do give up along the line and others , the likes of Kwadjo Opwad have been able to endured.

In an interview with youngprs.com , the fast growing artist has disclosed some of the worst situations he has gone through to keep the music dream alive.

He recounted his early days into music , around as a senior high school graduate who had to battled other top guys for a recording session which was not easy for him a “Fresh Underground”.

So he had to starve himself for over weeks with little or no food just to save up money to acquire a studio microphone to set up his own recording studio since he couldn’t compete with the other big guys like Guru Nkz , Yaw Berk etc for a studio recording session.

This is his narration ;

” This is the story, remember when I said I had to ask town and the artist about studio and where to record when I completed school, techiman back then was different from now ,only a few studios

I finally got one I fit in
then started visiting but here is the case financial backing right after SHS sucks ,

So these studio guys won’t even mind you when you come and if they will. let you record them go send you saaa and you go wait till night.

Then I got the plan to set up something small for myself so I started saving up a bit , had to starve myself over weeks along the line to make it happen “
