Katey Ocansey speaks about his journey and new single “Sika” featuring King Jerry.
Versatile Ghanaian Artiste Katey Ocansey who is widely known for his dexterity in highlife, Afrobeat and reggae genre is one of the few who has kept his originality as a musician in the Ghanaian entertainment space.
The artiste who had passion from his early stage in life drew inspiration from Adane Best, Lucky Dube, Kojo Antwi, Daddy Lumba and Amakye Dede, making him one of the best entertainers in school during his time, boosting his confidence to pursue music as a career.
Speaking to him exclusively, he shared his journey on how he has come this far as an artiste learning from Adane Best and Nii Darko Dodoo.
“Growing up I used to listen to Adane Best, Kojo Antwi, Daddy lumba, Amakye Dede etc. fortunately for me I had the chance to get closer to Adane Best and Nii Darko Dodoo they inspired me. Some of my friends even called me Adane Best because of the way I sing his songs”.
Professionally Katey Ocansey has two singles to his credit featuring Adotey Tetor and Adene Best.
Mawo Mi Gbe ano ft Adotey Tetor and Suumo Onye mi ft Adane Best are songs released, and so far been accepted by all.
Currently, Katey Ocansey has a new single with “king Jerry” dubbed “Sika” which will be outdoor to the public soon and is expected to take the airwaves by surprise.
“My new single with King Jerry will be one of the biggest in the country, everyone should expect something great coming soon”.
Speaking into the future, the artiste is positive to seeing his music travel outside the shores of Ghana and changing lives. Also he assured fans and followers to expect more songs from his camp in the years ahead accompanied with great features.
He also stressed on finance as a major challenge, hoping it becomes a thing of the past to help engage in massive promotions to his targeted audience.
