We Won’t Disclose The Identity Of Our Board Members – PRO Of VGMA Insist

The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA), Robert Klah, has made it known that the identities of the board members in charge of selecting nominees and winners for the awards scheme will never be made public.

According to him, the decision was made to protect the safety of the board members as it has received several threats in the past, as well as being subjected to online harassment which has led to concerns about their safety.

This has compelled the scheme to keep the identities of the board members confidential to avoid any possible harm.

Using the Grammy Awards as reference, Robert, who is also an event organizer opined that the over 11,000 decision makers who comprise members of the Recording Academy are relatively unknown.

“There are 11,000 plus people responsible for the Grammys, and I don’t know if you know all of them and I don’t know if anybody is responsible for knowing all of them,” he explained.

Robert Klah noted that the board members are a diverse group of individuals with various backgrounds and expertise in the music industry, and they take their responsibilities very seriously.
