It was a brief but delectable ceremony at the offices of nouveau boxing management and promotional outfit, Twinstars ; the signing of a three year management deal between young, daring Gbese-born lad Samuel Quaye who trains out of The Gym in Accra and Mr.Ahmed Nureni Davis, CEO of the Twinstars Conglomerate.
Mr.Davis, who himself, has had stints with the pugilistic art mentioned that he spotted Quaye in a sparring session against former world title challenger Duke Micah and instantly reckoned his undeniably protuberant prospects. He revealed that after consulting with Dodzi Kemeh, a former welterweight title holder and Mr George Kudjud, a nephew of “The Boxing Professor” Azumah Nelson, he proceeded to do further background checks which ultimately inured to the deal.
Full of mirth, Asafoiatse Ayitey Adjin 1 and renowned matchmaker and trainer Abdul Rasheed Williams aka Believer, expressed appreciation towards the management team for the overture and extolled the potential of young Samuel Quaye (3-1).
Mr. Rasheed Williams on his part emphasized on the need for discipline; an ingredient which he asserted was inexorable in the quest for success in any field especially boxing.
The 21 year old lightweight progidy who on his debut on September 3, 2023 lost a close decision to veteran Azumah Mohammed, bounced back a month later with a win over William Attoh, and in his last bout annihilated a vastly experienced foe in Eric Quarm on October 29 last year, much to the amazement of many a fan at the Bukom Boxing Arena, thanked his new management for the opportunity and pledged never to let them down. The event was covered by Next TV and graced by family and friends of the boxer and members of the the Twinstars Boxing Management and Promotions team.
