Create more opportunities for traditional dancers – Samuel M. Marquaye (Bukom Mama) to entertainment stakeholders
Ghanaian professional dancer, choreographer and Percussionist Samuel M. Marquaye aka Bukom Mama has charged entertainment stakeholders to create more opportunities to accommodate talented individuals doing so well in that space.
Speaking on the matter he expressed his concerns over the neglect of talents who are poised for using Traditional African dance to change narratives and making positive impact in the society through their craft.
Looking at his journey and influence on many Pan-African movements through Art and Culture, Bukom Mama feels a lot can be achieved if there is collective and deliberate efforts by government in developing talents for tourism and commercial export.
“I feel it is very important for corporate brands and government to invest in talents especially Traditional dancers and creatives, just like Mali and Senegal are doing. Their investment in tourism and culture have been massive over the years and recouping every penny invested, a path we are lacking as a country, he opined.
Over the years Samuel M. Marquaye has performed in great shows and with individuals like Ghana Music Awards, Okyeame Kwame, E.L, CAN 2008, Anandzeba, kings and Queens Union Conference (Libya), Dubai Circus Fiesta (Dubai), Water Park Eid Festival etc.
