Disregard any new genre created, they are confused – Mixtic reacts to the new Ghanapiano genre created
Entertainment critique Mixtic RomRas has called on Ghanaians to disregard any new genre created by any Ghanaian artiste.
The call came after Dopenation, Ghanaian music duo announced a new genre of music called Ghanapiano.
Mixtic argued that, previous genre of music created in the past are still struggling and to revive it has become a challenge thus creating a new one is a nuisance.
“Any attempt by dopenation to create Ghanapiano must be blocked and completely disregarded.
We are already struggling with how to revive some fallen genres and these dudes are trying to create more irrelevant ones”. This isn’t creativity it’s confusion.
He further stated that, Ghanapiano and others are the reasons there has been a drastic fall in the Ghanaian entertainment industry in terms of export and attracting investors.
“ Ibi things like Ghanapiano wey dey mess wanna music up.Everyone want to claim creation of a music category or genre.Immediately they make a hit from it, they create a Ghanaian copy of it.”
Conversations have been held in recent years on how the Ghanaian entertainment industry can be revived and a lot of creatives are also doing their best in making sure Ghana is represented fairly outside the shores of Ghana.
Shatta wale, Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, King Promise, Camidoh, Kelvyn Boy are just few names of artistes breaking barriers with the songs.
