Mikal Asher To Drop New Single Dubbed “Gotta Get Your Love” On 14th February

In less than a week Chocolate Star records will be releasing Mikal Asher’s brand new single called “Gotta get your love”.  Now there is a lot of history to this song.  “Gotta get your love” was first released in 1999 on the Heavenly Star Record label.

It was produced by Gary Davis and performed by Clyde Alexander and Sanction.  At that time Gary used his band Sanction to produce many songs for Peter Brown on the Heavenly Star Label.

The relationship between label owner and Producer got a bit rocky. So Gary left Heavenly Star Records and started his own label, Chocolate Star Records.  Gary met Mikal Asher in 1992 and that is where the relationship between Artist and Producer began.

Mikal Asher and Gary was the perfect match for each other.  Asher found the Producer that he always needed and Gary found the Artist he has always wanted to produce.

Together, Mikal and Gary recorded songs like, Jah Got Something, Red Gold and Green, Starting all over, She left me and many more.

Over the years, Asher went on to record the following albums: Born Again, Produced by Eskender Judah for Jah Light Records (England) Binghiman, Produced by Sly and Robbie, Dean Frasier and Morgan Heritage for African Star Records (Jamaica) and Armageddon, Produced by Ronald Butler for Show Biz Records (Ivory Coast).

Asher took his music to Africa and went for many years without contact with his very first Producer.  He had lost communication with Gary.
Fast forward to 2020, Gary and Mikal links up again.  Gary gives Mikal the instrumental to “Gotta get your love” and asked him to do a dancehall version of the song.  So Mikal not only remixed it to a Dancehall beat, he turned the song into a positive message to the ladies.
He also, put two Hip Hop artist (JahD and Hollow Loc) on the song.  “Gotta get your love” is quite an experience, it is truly a positive message to the ladies, telling them not give in to one night stands but to take your time and save your body for the right man.

This song will also be on Asher’s upcoming new Album, Binghiman Unchained, slated to be release in a few months on Asher’s Jahmikal Entertainment label.  Look out for Mikal Asher’s “Gotta get your love”, on Chocolate star Records, featuring JahD and Hollow Loc, coming February 14th.
