Mixtic hits Hard on iOna Reine for sampling Papa Yankson’s hit “Ebei”
Enthusiastic Entertainment Critique Abdul Nasir Awal popularity known as Mixtic or Pimpim police has hit hard on Ghanaian female singer Mercy Onuawonto Sam, popularly known in the music circles as iOna Reine for what he feels “Gyaime” which happens to be the latest single from iOna Reine’s camp is a sampled song from Veteran Highlife musician Papa Yakson’s classic “Ebei”.
In a latest posted on Facebook, Mixtic stressed on why it’s very important for artists to be unique in what they do. According to the entertainment critique, sampling has become very normal among the new artists which needs to be taken serious if our industry wants to see growth.
Mixtic Wrote on his Facebook wall
“Hi music experts pls gather here let’s discuss some critical topic about a certain song by one artiste i came across out of curiosity lol.
So she is iOna Reine , the song title is, “Gyaime” which i feel she sampled or borrowed from Paapa Yakson’s classic, Ebei!
Well i don’t know if my ears wasn’t sounding well or may be i am just trying to liken her to our very own Kuami Eugene..”

iOna Reine is a midwife by profession who made her musical debut in 2019 and have ever since dominated the music space with some great classics. She was however, criticized for mimicking the late ebony reigns in one of her music videos “Obra”. She is a divorcée with two adorable daughters.
