Osinachi’s husband faces death sentence in court after being accused of causing her death.
Nigeria’s Federal Government has documented 23-count charges as a detriment to Peter Nwachukwu, spouse of late famous gospel craftsman, Osinachi, who passed on April 8 after he purportedly attacked her.
He was charged under segments 104 and 379 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, 2015, by the Attorney-General of the Federation.
The respondent was accused of blamable crime as opposed to segment 221 of the Penal Code which is culpable with death.
The case with charge number, CR/199/2022, was documented at the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, on May 20, 2022, by the Head, Sexual and Gender-Based Violence, Department of Public Prosecutions of the Federation, Ministry of Justice, Mrs Yewande Gbola-Awopetun.
The 42-year-old performer passed on subsequent to going through days at an undisclosed medical clinic in Abuja.
Nwachukwu was thus captured by the police after partners of Osinachi, who was a lead vocalist at the Dunamis International Headquarters, Abuja, blamed him for beating her.
Count one peruses, “That you Peter Nwachukwu, 56, male, on the eighth of April, 2022 at Aco Estate, inverse police headquarters, Lugbe, Abuja, FCT, inside the ward of this fair court, serious an offense to with: guilty murder culpable with death in that you caused the passing of Mrs Osinachi Nwachukwu by your different demonstrations of brutality and disturbed attack with the information that her demise would be the plausible outcome of your demonstrations.”
Count two, “Proclamation of offense: Wilfully putting an individual in anxiety toward actual injury in spite of segment 4(1) of the Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Act, 2015 and culpable under a similar part of the Act.”
