Apprise Music Elevates Ghana’s Global Music Voice at WOMEX 2025 Tampere, Finland, in October 2025

This year’s World Music Expo (WOMEX 2025) was a big hit for Ghana’s music scene, as

Apprise Music & Media showed off the country’s creative talent and cultural rhythm to the world.
Michael Bamfo (Founder & CEO) and Grace Nyele Mensah (Operations & Publishing Lead) led
the Apprise team in putting Ghana at the center of international music trade and collaboration.

Apprise Music stood out as Ghana’s leader in innovation, technology, and sound at this year’s
event, which took place from October 22 to 26, 2025, in Tampere, Finland. More than 2,600
professionals and 260 artists from over 90 countries attended.
Ghana’s Sound, World Stage

Apprise Music’s show had a fantastic mix of Ghanaian and Pan-African acts, including Abiana,
Epixode, Rama Blak, Nativ Afrik Band, Abbi Ima, King Eazie, Osagyefo, Kim Muareen, King
Nzema, Lalaboy, Maya Blu, and Ras Caleb Appiah-Levi.
These artists gained recognition thanks to WOMEX’s pitching sessions, curated playlists,
printed and digital campaigns, and Apprise’s custom marketing activations.

Michael Bamfo said, “Ghana has always been a place of great creativity.” But the world hasn’t
fully grasped the breadth and depth of what we provide. WOMEX gives us the chance to
change that story by putting our artists, our rhythms, and our stories in the spotlight.
The Beat That Makes the Brand

Apprise Music started out as a digital distribution company in 2018, but it has since grown into a
full-fledged cultural movement. It gives artists tools for publishing, managing their rights,
marketing, and digital distribution, all while promoting the preservation of Ghana’s diverse
musical identity.
Apprise Music supports every rhythm that defines the Ghanaian spirit, from highlife’s nostalgic
lilt to Afrobeats’ global pulse, and from traditional drumming groups to experimental fusions.
The company’s goal at WOMEX 2025 was clear: to link Ghana’s music scene with opportunities
around the world, making sure that the country’s music stays relevant and respected on
international stages.
Leadership and a Clear Goal

This was Michael Bamfo’s third time at the WOMEX global expo. His last performance at
WOMEX 2024 in Manchester led to the famous Abiana × Auli collaboration, which is a beautiful

This year, he kept building new bridges between continents through pitch sessions and creative
exchange.
Grace Nyele Mensah was responsible for Apprise’s publishing and operational strategies. She
set up important meetings with international delegates and publishing companies, which
showed Apprise’s commitment to fair rights, openness, and growth for African creators.
Working together as the new money
WOMEX is still a place for cultural conversation, even outside of business. Apprise Music’s
presence showed that Ghana was ready to work with people from other continents to mix
traditional sounds with new ideas.
Apprise keeps making partnerships that push the limits of music, like possible projects between
Ghanaian drummers and European electronic producers or African choirs working with jazz
orchestras.

A Digital Future for African Music
In a time when digital tools determine success, Apprise Music takes a forward-looking approach
that combines technology, openness, and tradition. Its distribution model guarantees that artists
will always have access to 100% of their royalties, even after their accounts expire. This sets a
new standard for ethics in the African music industry.
Apprise Music not only showed off Ghana’s culture at WOMEX, but it also indicated that Africa’s
creative economy is ready to lead, not follow.
