Professor Goski Alabi Honored at Ghana 100 Trailblazer Awards

In a distinguished ceremony held on Friday, 11 July 2025, at the La Balm Royal Beach Hotel, Professor Alabi the Vice-Chancellor of Accra Metropolitan University, was honored as a Special Guest and Awardee at the prestigious Ghana 100 Trailblazer Awards. Organized by The Business Executive Group and attended by influential leaders including Group CEO Dr. Baroness Paulette Kporo, the evening recognized individuals making groundbreaking contributions across various fields.

Professor Alabi was celebrated for her transformative contributions to tertiary education and leadership development in Ghana. As a seasoned academic and Chartered Quality Professional (UK), she co-founded Accra Metropolitan University—Ghana’s first accredited open university—where she played a pivotal role in advancing Open and Distance Learning. Her work has significantly expanded access to higher education, making learning more flexible, inclusive, and efficient for students across the country.

Her national and international recognition includes being named Africa’s Most Respected CEO in Tertiary Education at the 2021 Africa CEO Awards in Dubai. Recently, she was appointed to the National Education Forum Committee by President John Mahama to help shape Ghana’s educational policy. She was also appointed as the Chairperson of the Governing Council of the University of Mined and Technology-Tarkwa . Ghana.

The Ghana 100 Trailblazer Awards aim to honor individuals who have paved new paths in Business, Pubkic Service, education, entertainment, gospel music, and broadcasting. Professor Alabi’s recognition highlights her lasting impact on quality assurance, educational innovation, and leadership in Ghana’s academic sector.
