Christabel Queensley Derby Makes History as Youngest Recipient of Honorary Doctorate from American Bible University

On December 14, 2024, Christabel Queensley A. Derby Donkor, a lawyer, gender advocate, and youth leader, made history as the youngest recipient of an honorary degree from the prestigious American Bible University Ghana Campus.
She was conferred with the Honorary Doctor of Letters (Hon. D.Litt.) during a grand ceremony held at GNAT Hall, Accra, in recognition of her exceptional contributions to youth empowerment, gender equality, and global advocacy.

Christabel’s journey is a testament to dedication, resilience, and impactful leadership. From her humble beginnings in Huni Valley, Western Region, to her trailblazing role as the first African and female Vice Chairperson for Inclusion and Engagement on the Commonwealth Youth Council, Christabel has remained a fierce advocate for positive change. Her leadership has amplified the voices of over 1.5 billion youth across 56 Commonwealth countries.

As the CEO of Empower Africa Alliance and founder of Derby’s Foundation Ghana, she has consistently championed policies and programs that address critical challenges facing young people and marginalized groups. Her accolades, including the Most Distinguished Youth Leader Award and the Duke of Edinburgh International Gold Award, reflect her unwavering commitment to excellence.
