“Work on Your Human Relations if You Want to Achieve Greatness” – Prof. Goski Alabi Advises
Professor Goski Alabi, a renowned academic, leadership consultant, and Ag. President of Accra Metropolitan University (Accra Met), has encouraged Ghanaians, to prioritize building strong human relations as a key to achieving lasting success. Speaking on Onua TV’s Onua Showbiz hosted by AJ Poundz, who filled in for Nana Ama McBrown, Prof. Alabi emphasized that success is not achieved in isolation but through intentional connections with the right people.
According to her, who you associate with can have a significant impact on your personal growth, brand development, and long-term opportunities. Her remarks were a call to action for people to invest in building meaningful, value-driven relationships that can support their goals.
This philosophy is deeply reflected in her leadership at Accra Metropolitan University, where human development, leadership training, and relationship building are central to the learning process. As the founding president of Accra Met, Prof. Goski Alabi has led the institution with a progressive vision to redefine higher education in Ghana one that is open, inclusive, flexible, and aligned with the real world needs of today’s learners.
Accra Metropolitan University is an open university, which means it is committed to providing accessible and flexible learning opportunities to a diverse population of students. The open university model removes traditional barriers to education such as rigid entry requirements, limited classroom space, and fixed schedules. At Accra Met, learners from all walks of life working professionals, adult learners, entrepreneurs, and recent high school graduates can pursue higher education on their own terms.
The university offers a variety of delivery modes, including evening and weekend classes, virtual learning, and blended programs that combine online and in-person experiences. This makes it especially attractive to students who are juggling work, family, or business responsibilities but still want to advance their education and career prospects. In doing so, Accra Met is helping democratize education and empower more Ghanaians to reach their potential.
Under Prof. Alabi’s leadership, the university also places a strong emphasis on mentorship, community engagement, and ethical responsibility. Through seminars, partnerships, and student-led initiatives, learners are encouraged to engage with real societal challenges and develop solutions. This reflects her belief that education must go beyond the classroom to make a lasting impact.
Beyond the university, Prof. Goski Alabi continues to be a powerful voice for leadership development, women’s empowerment, and youth mentorship in Ghana and across Africa.
